Do you have plants with your convict cichlids? I like them a lot but i
find them very aggresive, and I would be affraid they will destroy
everything but rocks. :)

not a lot of plants in their tank but some anubias and Vals and Java Fern.
They don't touch the plants at all however with a whole load of fry in with
the two adults they do enjoy biting my hand even if it is the hand that
feeds them, every time I do tank maintenance.
