When snails appear I add kribs (Pelvicachromis pulcher) to the aquarium and
the snails disappear.  It's best to use only one gender, kribs being
enthusiastic breeders and aggressive defenders of their young.  A handsome
fish, also.

interesting. I have lots of Kribs however I'm taking snails out of their
tank to feed to my loaches. On the other hand I have a 40 g with some
Convict cichlids in and they clean snails up real quick.
