Sure thing. Some folks do insulate the bottom of their
tanks if, as is common with many aquarium stands, the
bottom panel of the aquarium is otherwise exposed to the
room air.

The rigid plastic insulation foam sold in hardware stores
(Home Depot, etc.) works well for this.  YOu can cut it
easily and if it's jsut the right size you can press it
into place from below the aquarium.
