Jason,
Please read the label on the algae product you mentioned. I was scared off by 
the health warnings on the bottle. It sounded so nasty that I pointed it out 
to the management of my local PetSmart, where they had it easily within reach 
of any 3 year old. They quickly moved it up to about adult eye level.

I'd rather have algae than use something that dangerous.
