Some Custom SeaLife lamps use 65 Watt square-4-pin bulbs
and some use the 55watt inline-4-pin bulbs.
Which is your Custom SeaLife lamp?
The 65 watt bulbs are different in design -- they're not
just 55 watters being overdriven. However, electronic
ballasts tend to be somewhat flexible about what loads are
put on them and fluorescent lamps somewhat forgiving about
how they are driven.
Still, as a rule, you probalby want to match the wattage
rating, and certainly the pin arrangement -- especially if
your lamp is still under warranty.
It's best to check with the dealer whether they will back
the bulbs for a given application.
Good luck,
Scott H.
