Will SAEs eat moss?  Yep.  I had Christmas moss in my
tank, but they reduced it to a bunch of bare stems.  I
moved the rest to my terrarium, where it is doing well
emersed.  

There is still some java moss growing on the silicone
in the corners of the tank, and that is heavily
stripped too.  I can't say that happens in all tanks
and situations, but it has been my experience.
