Things are looking up in the loach tank.  I'd been worried about
translucencies on my Java ferns in that tank but after several reassurances
that this might be just normal growth I've been watching, and it is coming
up only in the new leaves....and seems to be decreasing with time in those
leaves.   And when I did my regular pruning today, I realized that the
stuff that I'd thought was hair algae plus tank mulm making thick brown
fuzz in some of my wendelov java fern was actually roots from new
sprouts.....and my back cork is almost invisible under the happy javas!  So
the tank that I'd thought was about to have a major algae breakout was just
very, very happy.
