Even the Pros Don't Always Know

The results of an interesting experiment were reported to the Associated
Press recently concerning the effects of CO2 enrichment in light of the
warming climate. One excerpt can be found at

http://www.msnbc.com/news/844048.asp?0dm=T23CT

In this study, they found that excess CO2 can actually *stunt* plant growth.
But I'll let you read the article to find out exactly why for yourselves.

In reviewing her work to the press, first author Rebecca Shaw commented, “We
think that by applying all four elements in combination in a realistic
situation, some other nutrient becomes a limiting factor to growth.”

That ought to give you a major hint, there. Hah! Sometimes even the pros are
stumped by nutrient limitation...
