DIY Yeast Reactors

Well Guys i must say what is the correct mixture for the DIY Yeast Reactors.

I have used the following 2 cups sugar, 6 cups warm water, 1/2 - 2/8 tsp if Yeast.

Now i have heard people say add baking soda, knox gelatin. 

What is the optimal mixture to get the most co2 from this method??

I plan on using 3 yeast reactors on my 20 gallon planted tank only that is why i ask.
