One way to manage the decline in lumen output is to overlamp the tank. Turn
on one (or some) lamp(s) for the entire photoperiod, and then the extra
lamps for a short period at mid-day when they are new. Then extend the
period of the extra lamps as they all age. This way the total daily number
of lumens can be maintained. A meter would help here, but I'm just winging
it.
