lighting a fish room

I have just recently redone my fish room and have 12 racks with 4 shelves 
on each rack, the top 3 shelves each have two ten gallon tanks, the bottom 
shelves all have 40 gallon tanks.

99% of the tanks contain killies, soft water, ph 6.5.

Two questions, what types of plants would go well in these tanks, and how 
to economically light the tanks so that plants can grow.

Anyone got any ideas?
