Douglas, You did all that calculation for nothing. :) The "extra" gases are not extra gases at all. They are merely some of the normal gases being released when the tap water is heated by the water heater. Hot water holds less gas than cold water, and so releases some of its gas when it leaves the pressurized tap. Mike Wickham
