N. japonica is a different plant which eminates from East Asia.

N. japonica is more likely an import.

Yes, mine is imported from Asia, Singapore. It seems to look like Daves, but
looks like Tropicas picture as well. Apparently then the Asian Nuphar
japonica native to Japan looks very much like the Cape Fear. I wonder if its
growing habits are alike?
