Re: AFF vs. FFF



Wouldn't it be something if the original common name was Flag Fish, not in
reference to any specific flag (American or Florida, etc.), but rather that the
pattern of large colored scales was flag-like?  If that were the case, then it
is possible that the "AFF" common name was one introduced by aquarists/retailers
in Europe, and "FFF" common name was the result of American aquarists/retailers
to identify the fish.

Regardless, we seem to be in agreement that Jordanella floridae is the fish in
question.  What difference does it make if someone calls it FFF while another
calls it AFF? All it means is that this one fish has TWO common names (well,
actually more than that, but let's not get into that here).
