2x13 or 1x36 bright kit?

I am probably going to turn my ten gallon into a real
planted tank (instead of a java fern choked mess) and
ugrade the lighting to power compacts.  Either the 36
or 2x13 kit.  The 2x13 costs less... All I really want
to know is if it will give good even lighting if
placed over the center, keep glosso flat, and arcuata
deep red.
