Re: Clear water after Flourite?

Maybe if you wipe the interior glass surfaces of your tank BEFORE you judge
the "clarity" of your water, it might help. Flourite, being a natural clay
based product, probably has lots of very fine particulate clinging to each
granule. A quick rinse under the tap might not remove all of this and your
filters might not be capable of removing it either, at least not quickly. If
there is a lot of clay particulate in the water column, some of it is going
to settle out onto the glass walls of the tank. It might only be a very thin
layer but it WILL affect the clarity you perceive as you look through it. It
will eventually all settle out of the water column, but any which sticks to
the inside glass is going to have to be manually removed by wiping.
