Thanks very much for the helpful info. The plants do look very healthy and I'm relieved to know they are supposed to be reddish. So far, the new leaves are not larger than the original ones but I'm glad to wait and see. By the way, I bought 4 little otocinclus cats and they are really doing a wonderful job on my algae. I can't believe how much they eat! Carol
