Re: Aquatic Plants Digest V4 #1505

  Tank cycling.....hmm.....What an interesting topic.
All I can say about this topic is. K. I. S. S.
           Keep It Simple Stupid
I have 20 plus tanks in my house and only one has ever been cycled
according the so called "rules of aquarium setup."

Yes, I'm familiar with Ammonia and Nitrite and Nitrates and all that. It's
all about the water and nothing else. "Cleanliness is next to godliness." Do
constant water changes in the beginning about two months. If your going to be
keeping a planted aquarium your going to have to get use to doing 10% a week
anyhow. So for the first two months you do 35-50% changes with nice pure
clean water. When I say pure I'm not saying strait RO unless your breeding
some type of fish that requires it.
That's all there is too it. Simple huh? And do yourself a favor and stay
away from the "So called startup Bacteria" they sell at the LFS.
