Try drilling a hole in the vertical pipe just below the tank waterline. Brush it off/out regularly to avoid clogging. In case of a power down situation, the hole will suck air and break the siphon to minimize tank water loss. The sump operating level obviously should be maintained at a level sufficient to absorb any drain down from the display during outages. Test this. HTH RTR/Robert
