False.  Very false.

Use sodium bicarb, potassium bicarb or calcium carbonate.  Either of the
bicarbonates is easier to use then the carbonate.  If you want to use pH
to monitor CO2 levels then you can't use any buffer other than a carbonate
or bicarbonate buffer.
