I use an Eheim 2213 in just this situation, and the flow is not too strong. I have not found the Eheim flows to be strong enough in some circumstances, so I don't think you have any worries. Personally, I think this is the perfect filter size for that sized planted tank; it seems a little underpowered for my 40g, where I use the identical filter. Roxanne Bittman
