Note that Coppersafe contains copper.  Maryn calls it "safe" because it
is chelated.  Nonetheless, Coppersafe puts copper in your tank and
plants tolerate copper only at trace levels.  Some fish can tolerate
more and arthropods, such as shrimp, generally can tolerate less.  Or
so I have read.

Malachite green and formaldehyde can be removed from the tank with good
quality fresh carbon.  Does anyone know if copper is adsorbed by
carbon?
