My father used to fix TVs, among other things, as a hobby.  We had this
one set that squealed to beat the band.  We asked him why he didn't
stop that noise.  "what noise?" he asked.  Approaching his sixties he
could no longer hear above about 13Hz--all yokes had become, to him,
easier to tame.
