Hi there...
I had the green water too at one point...I was advised to turn off my tank 
lights for 4 days...on 1 day and off 4 more days...it  does work.. I left the 
lights on for a few minutes to make sure all was okay with the fish and then 
turned them off. Also..you could try daphnia as they eat the green water 
(algae) but the fish may eat them first!
