Would it be safe use some Lava collected in fields on the eastern side of the Sierra in a tank as a basis for Java moss? My LFS has lava for sale, but I asume it is treated with something. (Those blokes haven't a clue) Is igneous lava universally safe, or is there a danger of harmful metals such as arsenic? Should I just soak the thing in HCL?
