Re: Color temperature and growth patterns

I found a reference to color temperature in " The Optimum Aquarium" - "Warm
color lamps (about 3600 Kelvin) promote elongated growth. Cold color lamps
(6000 Kelvin) promote bushy growth."

I at the moment am using 3 x 25w / 4100K / t8 bulbs (I think this is cool
white). My growth has been rather stringy. However, this could be due to a
nutrient problem or simply not enough light (75w over a 28 gal 36x15 (wide)
x 16 (high) tank?).

Hope this helps.
