Crypt. petchii (also referred to as beckettii var. petchii) is a fine 
foreground plant, stays about 3" tall, deep maroon leaves, very 
pretty. Crypt. parva is a diminutive 1" plant, always green, but 
grows at a glacial rate so if you go that route, buy a bunch from the 
outset.
