Long-term benefits of fluorite?
Hello! I am in the process of setting up a 125 gallon planted tank. After
a lot of reading and experimenting I am almost convinced to use fluorite as
a substrate. However, I couldn't find anything in the archives or on the
krib about the long term benefits of fluorite. I would greatly appreciate
any and all comments from fluorite users, and especially those who have had
their tank running for a year or longer. I am particularly interested in
knowing which particular plants thrive or fail.
As a side note - I'm a bit concerned that the large fluorite chunks might be
sufficiently large that excess food particles could get trapped and cause
water quality problems. Any validity to this concern?
