I use a very simple device: an old filter that hangs on the aquarium.
The pump in it stopped working (even after cleaning), so I pump the
water to it from an Aquaclear 201 in the aquarium.  I am currently
experimenting with growing H. difformis out of the water. In the filter
box is filter floss, which cleans the water and provides the plants
something to grow in at the same time.
BTW, if you have any suggestions on how to improve this, please say so.
