Garden Hose for filling tank

if i have a python type of device (made by lee's i beleive) anyways can i 
attatch a garden hose for filling to my tank? there's 3 different types of 
hose, industrial (4 ply?!) agricultural (spelling, 2 ply) and RV (4 ply) but 
i bought the industrial already should i take it back and refund it for the 
RV one or is it safe for my plants and fish to use the one i bought already? 
i read on www.thekrib.com that the newer garden hoses have algaecide in it? 
could anyone help me on this?
