Hello, the easiest, less stressfull and best method for fishless cycle is to put the media material from the filter into an established tank untill it's brown and used. (i.e. established media) If your going filterless then you can use established water, about 2 gallons for the 20g tank. This will instantly cycle the tank. Ed
