I had vita's and a 50/50 with no problems although I prefer the Triton now.
A chroma 50 and a GE 6500K will do fine for you too. Save yer dough. It
ain't the light, it's the balance.
Try lowering the Ph and see what happens to the algae. Is it like clumps
that grow on gravel and tubing etc? A nice green color? Rosey barbs and or
Flagfish or remove by hand. Likes redder colors in lighting. Old bulbs
maybe?
