This shrimp is often confused with Rhynchocinetes uritai, also called the peppermint shrimp. L. wurdemanni has a less pronounced hump and less bright white lines. It is generally safe in a reef aquarium and is sometimes used to control Aptasia anemones. These shrimp are easily bred in captivity.
