NFC: Changes in chemical makeup of creeks

When i went collecting yesterday I wanted to see what effect if any a
two inch rainfall had on the chemical make up of Paddy's Run, an
intermittent stream in dry summers with numerous areas of ground water
seepage and small springs.

9/26/99 near the end of a long protracted drought ... the rainfall total
for september was a hefty .02 inches hehe. Only areas with ground water
seepage and springs held any water.

        pH 8.2 kH 16 dH 21

10/11/99 Two days after a two inch rain fall ...there was definitely
more water but the stream had minimal flow.

        pH 7.6 kH 11 dH 16

It will be interesting to see what conditions are like over a complete
yearly cycle.
