Lizard fishes you might encounter are of the genus, Synodus. They are cigar shaped with a crocodile-like look about them. Their snout is pointed....almost triangular shaped and they have lots of sharp teeth. They tend to be an ambush predator that lies buried in the sand, darting out to grab anything they can sink their teeth into. In an aquarium, they're very predatory, so beware! J. R.
