A quick suggestion on easy to maintain aquarium plants, it's a really short 
list   : )
Cerataphyllum and Java moss both are extremely easy floating aquatics which 
require nothing more than a fish load to sustain them, no subsrtate 
ammendments. Cerataphyllum espescially is excellant at converting nutrient in 
the water and keeping algea growth at a minimum and niether require more than 
the standard lighting in most home aquaria.  Both are commonly obtainable at 
your LFS or online from Aquatic Plant Nurseries.
