NFC: BOUNCE nfc at actwin_com: Non-member submission from [floridafishnut at juno_com] (fwd)

(bowfin, american mudfish)
Breeding. Not yet accomplished in aquaria. In the wild the breeding
season is in May and June The male builds a nest of plant fragments in
the plant thicket. The fish spawn at night and are very prolific( up to
70,000 eggs) The young hatch afterabout one week and are gaurded up to a
lenth of 10cm (4")
