How about this: better water quality and fish habitat equals more 
diversity and better fishing for lunker largemouths, catfish, etc. The 
North American Fishing Club in its April, 1998 edition of North American 
Fisherman cited a number of studies where water quality and habitat 
preservation were the top concerns of sport fishermen, even more than 
recreational fishing issues.  Of course, anglers wanted to see license 
fee expenditures concentrated on their favorite game species. Bottom 
line: good water quality and habitat plus plenty of nongame forage fish 
equals well fed game fish and quality fishing. 'Nuff said.
