Like someone else said, it is doubtful that what you have is a flame
chub.  A similar looking fish that occurs in your range is the Northern
Redbelly Dace (Phoxinus eos).  I don't believe that the Audubon guide
has a picture or profile, but I'm sure it has one for the Southern
Redbelly Dace (P. erythrogaster).  Try looking at it and see if it looks
like your fish.  Sorry, I've never kept those fish and don't know much
about them, other than the fact that they are very beautiful!
