Is this enough notice?

Planned for 11 Febuary 1997 at 9:30 EST, 6:30 PT/Talker Time in the 
Aquaria Study Group is a meeting on our favorite group of Natives: 
Darters.  I may or may not depending on YOUR FEEDBACK as well as just how 
much I can fit in include one or two other groups.  Let me know what 
YOU'D like to see for native chats.  Following my SIG so as to not annoy 
everyone who already knows is instructions for getting into ASG.  
Secondly, who did all the advertising?  Atleast a half dozen new members 
have signed on TODAY!!!  THis list is truly growing which says a lot 
about natives in the hobby.

Instructions to Get in:

First off, you need a telnet application.  Some web browsers will let you
telnet, some will not.  Common telnet applications are telnet, GMud and
ZMud.  Many are available on the 'net.  Then you need to telnet to the
aquaria study group.  To do this, enter into your telnet application the
adress 206.129.8.221 port 8000 Typicaly for web browsers, you type that in
one of three ways. 1: Telnet://206.129.8.221:8000, 2: 
telnet://206.129.8.221/8000 or telnet://206.129.8.221 8000 You may replace
the 206.129.8.221 with fantasia.galaxynet.com, but include the 8000. 
Other applications will have a place to put in the adress which should be
the same as above (one of the three wyas) without the telnet:// Some have
a command line which you will type in telnet 206.129.8.221 8000 Most will
use the space and not a : or /.  Now you're in.  What should pop us the
following ascii art: (This is a capture file... it may not be totaly

A crackling fire roars in the massive floor to ceiling stone fireplace
that covers the east wall, dangling ferns hang from the open wooden beams
above. An old fishing net with Japanese floats and driftwood is draped
above the mantle of the fireplace. The west wall is smoked glass, offering
a splendid view of the ocean and cliffs. The Blue Dolphin pub is appointed
with soft leather loveseats and several round tables with swivel chairs
for comfort. Sitting upon the tables are small signs: RESERVED FOR AQUARIA
STUDY GROUP. Padded, high-backed stools sit in front of the well stocked
bar. A 300 gallon acrylic tank filled with two schools of wild caught
specimens of Tropheus moorii "Mpulungu" and Tropheus duboisi "Maswa" is
recessed in the north wall of the room.

Thats what you should see.  I cut out the names of the people in the 
room.  Upon entering, if you are a new user, type in .selfpr abd@cef  As 
you saw above, your entrence level as a new user will be GUEST.  Typing 
".selfpr abd@cef" will give you MEMBER status, which will give you full 
access.  Thats it, you're in.  To quit, type in .q  To say something to 
someone, type in what you want to say and hit return.  To view the 
command list, type in .help commands  To find out what a command does, 
type .help <command> So if you wanted to know what the who command does, 
type in .help who  Who shows who is online, BTW.  The following commands 
you don't need to worry about: .mode, .prompt, and .suicide.  If you 
decided you don't want to come to ASG, type in .suicide <password> this 
will delete the account.  The Wizes (sort of like a host or SYSOP) online 
are myself (with the creative alias of Jlwiegert), Odus, and Moe.  The 
port manager (like a head SYSOP) is Cyn.  Any one of us, as well as most 
of the regular users, will be happy to help you.
