Glad to hear that someone else thought that that was interesting. I
still can't believe that, unless the genus name was resurected, anyone
would list a Bass as a Cichla (or maybe it was a Cichla as a Bass) but
then, if your familiar with the not-so-common-common-names of some of the
Cichla, many of them are called bass, such as the Peacock Bass (commonly
called the Peacock Cichla). The entire tooth and throat structure is
very different. Body shape certainly is. Size - but then Dempsies get
huge, and Areum stay small, they were both Cichlasoma..... But this is
all off the topic of Native Fish.
