Glad you enjoyed the article.  Let me know when you get to Joplin and I'll
alert you to a few good collecting sites on the Kansas side.

The Ozark Plateau has the highest habitat diversity and number of fish
species in the state.  Lots (for Kansas) of darter species, banded sculpin,
Northern hogsucker, rock bass, warmouth, and a number of shiners found
nowhere else in the state.
