NFC: Re: PA ice fishing



Not that often maybe 1 year in 10. We came very close this year but just
missed it. It takes several cold snaps in a row to make good ice. A few
brave (I mean crazy) people did venture out onto ice that was only 1-2
inches thick a few weeks ago but I won't go out unless its at least 4 inches
but I like 6 inches much better. It was near 60 here for a few days last
week and all the ice melted on all the lakes and ponds. I am not a huge ice
fisherman but I do enjoy it several times a year. When I go I am mainly on
the look out for yellow perch but get the occasional walleye, large bluegill
or smallmouth bass.
