The orangethroat pair I kept spawned in my little 1.5 gallon hectagon tank.
Heared of the saying 'hit the ground running' ? well this is a little hard to
belive, but as soon as I dropped the pair in, right after sinking to the
bottom the male began chasing the female, exibiting the same behavior until
they eventually spawned. This happened around the very beginning of April
(in southern Ohio) what a cool little fish!!
