Re: NFC: adopt-a-tank opp

Hey Sajjad.

Fathead Minnows and Rosy Reds are the same fish, just different colour
forms. They do have a lot of contrast, though, between the two.
However, both are relatively plain, one being a dull grey with a single
dark line, and the other being just a pale pink. They have the same
behavior, same patterns, etc. A big shoal of these fish in a tank makes
a nice display, but...
Basically, you'd be putting in a monoculture, albeit with two different
colours.
I'd recommend, aside from the crayfish, something a bit different than
these fish. This wille speically help to hold the attention of the
elementary aged children. You might want to consider a bottom-dwelling
species, such as a darter, or some top species, such as killies. Or,
you could add a second species of shoaling fish, that looks different
from the fathead, and won't shoal nor swim with them often.

Joshua.
