NFC: TO BAIT OR NOT TO BAIT

  Hi Chuck Church
     I think you are right that feeding fish in a
minnow trap attracts other fish . I think that just
having a couple of fish in there makes others more
comfortable near the trap . I normally set 4-6 traps
at a time in 2-3 habitat locations . If I have 2 traps
fairly full and a few fish in another trap or two I
have more than I can deal with . Sometimes I do put
some bait in 1 or 2 of the traps . I would never
discourage anyone from baiting traps and if I had only
one trap I would bait it just about every time . Since
I have a few traps and Im getting more than I need and
being new means Im getting new to me things ,  I just
don't have a need to do much baiting .
     Thank you for the cast net site . I book-marked
it.
I also just remembered that a couple years ago Konrad
Schmidt had an excellent video which showed the use of
all kinds of nets etc . It had a section on cast nets.
Matter of fact he had a plastic frisbee like thing for
the cast net challenged in there . I might look into
one of those . the video was at a really low price and
worth every penny . I would recommend it to anyone .
