I beg to differ with these growth rates---I have one currently that has
gone from abour 1 1/2" to 6" in 1 1/2 years---I had another that went from 2" to 4" in a little over 6 months. I have experienced similiar 
growth with a dollar sunfish I have--- went from about 1/2" to 3" in less than a year.  Maybe everything just grows biggeer in Texas!!! he hehe
