Senators will fight a rider this week that would block
Corps reform. Senators Stevens (R-AK) and Domenici (R-NM)
included the rider in the Senate’s Agriculture

CONSERVATION GRUPS SEEK REFORMS
Conservation groups urged Congress to reform the Corps by
requiring independent review, modern estimates of benefits
and costs, greater local cost-sharing and by holding the
Corps to the same wetland mitigation standards as private
developers.
