Knoxville, TN - Over 40,000 volunteers from across the nation have

cleanups
of blighted areas. Each year National River Cleanup Week promotes the
importance of keeping rivers and streams clean and encourages cleanups of
local waterways Civic clubs, businesses, paddlesports enthusiasts,
fishing
groups, outfitters and conservation groups join together in many areas to
organize and execute cleanups of their selected streams. Federal
partners
for the event include the USDA Forest Service and the Bureau of Land
Management.
American Rivers and America Outdoors are national co-coordinators of
National River Cleanup Week.
“National River Cleanup Week is a great way for individuals to make a

American
Rivers as a partner in promoting this year’s cleanup”, said David Brown,

of
outfitters and guides.
