NFC: RE: Mozambique

I did catch a blurb about the forests being over cut on the second day of
reporting the problem.. NBC was the network, but don't remember the
affiliated reporter...

I've been watching the sad situation in Africa with all the
flooding. It's interesting to note that while the media is quick to
report the tragedy, they are just as quick to NOT say what is the real
cause for such a colossal flood. Turns out the country has cut vast areas
of it's rain forest, which is it's natural flood control. This in turn
has resulted in a huge flood. It would have flooded with the forest
intact of course, but it would not have been so catastrophic. Anyone
heard anything on the news about this?

Luke
